Official seal, archbishop's curia; two seal impressions on a document. Each impression shows a crowned double-headed eagle with a coat of arms in the center. Dry seal impression depicts a clergyman standing in front, holding a crosier in his right hand. 1770, Italy, Genoa., A close-up of a textured, crumpled piece of paper with an embossed oval seal showing a raised figural scene; the paper is mostly off-white and beige with a greenish tint concentrated within the embossed area, and there is a vertical strip of black along the left edge. The embossed oval contains the faint relief of a central standing figure, another smaller figure nearby, and ornamental shapes around the rim; shadows and highlights emphasize the creases and fibrous surface, producing tones of beige, cream, pale green, dark gray, and muted brown.
