Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Polish coin (Jagiellonian dynasty) with coats of arms: Pogon (Lithuania) and Columns of Gediminas. Obverse: Crowned male royal bust in armour turned right, separating an inscription in a half-circle at the top: SIGIS. - .AVG.REX.; at the bottom horizontally in two lines: .POLO.MAG/.DVX.L. Reverse: Lithuanian chase (Pogon) turned left; below, under the crown dividing the date 15 - 67, a tied monogram composed of the letters SA and the Columns coat of arms that divide the rim inscription: MONETA.MAGNI.DVCA.LIT. Date: 1567. Coin of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (then in union with Poland). Diameter ~22.2–22.7 mm; weight ~1.75 g.
