Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Polish coin, Jagiellon dynasty. Obverse: Crowned male royal bust in armor turned right, inscription in a half-circle: .SIGIS - AVG.REX; at bottom in two lines: POLO.MAG./.DVX.L. Reverse: Lithuanian Pogon (coat of arms) turned left, below a crown dividing the date 15 - 66, a tied monogram consisting of the letters SA and the Columns of Gediminas (coat of arms of Lithuania), which divide the rim inscription: MONETA.MAGNI, CA.LIT. Date: 1566. Place: Vilnius, Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Poland–Lithuania). Coin, diameter ~22.2–22.7 mm, weight 1.85 g.
