Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Polish coin (Jagiellonian dynasty). Obverse: Crowned male bust in armour turned right, separating the inscription in a half-circle at the top: SIGIS - AVG.REX; at the bottom horizontally in two lines: POLO, MAG/. Reverse: Lithuanian Chaser (Columns of Gediminas) facing left; below, under the crown dividing the date 15 - 68, a tied monogram composed of the letters SA and the Columns coat of arms. Rim inscription: MONETA.MA, I.DVCA.LIT. Date: 1568. Place: Vilnius, Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Poland). Coin diameter 22.7–23.7 mm; weight 1.65 g.
