Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Jagiellonian dynasty; Polish coin, Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Vilnius, 1546. Obverse: Crowned male bust in armor turned right, separating the inscription in half-rim: 'SIGIS. - AVG.REX' with bottom horizontal two-line: 'POLO.MAG/DVX.LIT'. Reverse: Lithuanian Chase turned left; below under the crown a tied monogram composed of the letters SA and the Columns (Columns of Gediminas) coat of arms, dividing the rim inscription: 'MONE.MAG.D. .LITVA.1546'. Monograms, tied monogram (type), royal bust, coats of arms. Coin; diameter 22.7–23.0 mm; weight 1.98 g.
