Lithuanian grosz, Sigismund I the Old (King of Poland; 1506–1548). R8 (rarity). Polish coin of the Jagiellon dynasty. Obverse: Polish crowned eagle; rim between pearl borders with inscription: *SIGISMV, DVS*P, R, X*PO, *D*LITVA, IE*. Reverse: Pogon ( charging knight) turned to the left; below year 15–35; rim between pearl borders with inscription beginning with a trefoil, divided at the bottom by a shield with the Column coat of arms: MO, ETA*MAGNI D - VCATVS*LITVA, 1535. Grand Duchy of Lithuania; Poland; struck in Vilnius. Coin; diameter 25.3–25.8 mm; weight 2.4 g., A circular coin with a worn metallic surface showing shades of silver, gray, and light beige, featuring an embossed central design of a lion in profile surrounded by a braided circular border and a ring of raised decorative elements around the edge, with several raised figures and shield-like shapes integrated into the central area and along the inner border; the outer rim shows a sequence of raised ornamental characters and shapes, and the coin surface displays areas of smoothing and subtle darker patina spots.
