Gdansk half-thaler in gold - 4 ducats, Wladyslaw IV Vasa (king of Poland; 1632–1648), maker: Gerhard Rogge (fl. 1639–1657). Obverse: in a corded border the bust of the king to right wearing a crown and decorative armour, with a lace collar and the Order of the Golden Fleece, interrupted at the top by rim inscription 'VLAD.IIII.DGREX.POL.&SVEC.MDLIT.RVS.PR.' Reverse: in a corded border an oval shield with the coat of arms of Gdansk held by two lions; above the shield two palm branches in a wreath interrupt the rim inscription 'MONETA NOVA CIVITATIS GEDANENSIS'; on the sides the letters G - R; in a cartouche at the bottom the date 1641. 1641; Poland, Gdansk; coin; weight 13.82 g.
