Gdansk ducat, Klüwer, Filip (fl. 1588–1601); Sigismund III Vasa (King of Poland; 1566–1632). Obverse: in a beaded border a bust of the king in crown and armour, with a lying ruff and a lion's head on his shoulder, interrupted at the top by the rim legend: SIGIS.3.D : G .REX. POL.ET.SVE.DP. Reverse: in a pearl border two lions supporting a shield with the coat of arms of Gdansk, above it a monogram with the letters P, K. In the rim: .MONE.NO.AVR.CIVI.GEDANENSIS.96. At the top in the rim the mint master's mark — a hand with a dagger. 1596, Gdansk, Poland. Coin; weight 3.50 g; axis 270°.
