Octagonal astronomical instrument with a surface engraved on both sides; names of French and European cities inscribed on the underside with given longitudes. Signed: Butterfield / Paris. On the underside: a decharge mark for very small items of the lessee Étienne Ridereau (lily flower in a rhombus) struck from 29 VII 1684 to 1 X 1687. Date: 1684–1687. Place: Paris, France. Measuring instrument. Height 11.2 cm; width 8.2 cm.
