Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Polish coin (1568). Obverse: Crowned male bust in armour turned right, separating a half-circle inscription: SIGIS. AVG:REX; at bottom in two lines: POLO:MAG / DVX.L. Reverse: Lithuanian chase (Pogon) turned left, below under the crown dividing the date 15 - 68, a tied monogram composed of the letters SA and the Columns of Gediminas (coat of arms) that divide the rim inscription: MONETA.MAGNI.DVCA.LIT. Diameter ca. 23.0–23.5 mm; weight 2.05 g.
