Crown double-ducat, 1753. Maker: Ernest Dietrich Croll (fl. 1753–1763). Issued for August III Sas (King of Poland; Elector of Saxony; 1696–1763). Obverse: bust of the king turned right, wearing a crown, wig and mantle, with the Order of the Golden Fleece on his chest; rim inscription: DGAVGVSTVS III.REX POLONIARUM. Reverse: beneath a crown a round five-field shield with the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania and Saxony, flanked by two palm leaves; at the bottom the letters EDC; rim inscription: SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM ET ELECT.1753. Material: coin. Weight: 6.97 g. Location: Leipzig, Saxony (Germany).
