The figures wear a variety of historical garments including long robes, cloaks, capes, gowns, and tunics with headwear such as hats, caps, and veils; some garments have visible decorative patterns. A few children appear among the adults, one holding a small bird. The drawing uses muted brown ink lines with washes of pale beige and light pink on a cream-colored background, and there is a narrow striped border in red and white around the panel. The overall scene is composed in a single row across the width of the panel.
