Beside the helmet, a tall plume rises with a wooden or gold-toned shaft and a cluster of long feathers transitioning from dark at the base through red to pale gray at the tips. The drawing is mounted on a beige, slightly stained background with a narrow pale border and surrounding light tan paper.
