Hussar cavalry captain's armor, front and back view; drawn by Aleksander Lesser 1814–1884; pen/ink and wash on paper, glued at the upper edge to brown cardboard; drawing height 21.3 cm, width 12.8 cm; cardboard height 34.7 cm, width 24.8 cm; dated 1830–1884; depiction includes hussar militaria and knightly armor., A tall vertical sheet of aged beige paper with a darker brown textured border on the left side contains two pencil sketches of decorative chest armor one above the other. The upper armor drawing shows ornate curved shoulder pieces a scalloped neckline a central decorative cross-shaped emblem and layered horizontal bands with circular rivet-like details; fine pencil shading indicates contours and some small looping decorative flourishes. The lower armor sketch displays similarly shaped shoulder sections scalloped edging layered horizontal bands with circular ornamentation and a tie or strap detail at the top; pencil hatching provides shading and contouring. In the top left corner of the sheet there are small additional pencil doodles and curved ornamental motifs on a lighter rectangular overlay; faint pencil marks and smudges are scattered across the paper giving an aged worn appearance. The visible colors are beige brown and gray from the pencil.
