Drawing on tracing paper pasted with its entire surface onto paper of similar dimensions, which was glued at the top edge onto cardboard. Card: 11.9 × 8.3 cm; cardboard: 34.3 × 24.8 cm. Subject: Stanislaw Leszczynski King of Poland, 1677–1766. Genres/keywords: portrait, male portrait, portrait of a ruler, drawing, iconography., A drawing of a man shown from the waist up inside an oval frame, rendered in shades of gray, black, and off-white; he has short curly hair and a mustache and wears a layered outfit with a cloak draped over his shoulders that has a fur-trimmed edge, a rounded neckpiece, and a belted tunic with a sash tied at the waist; one hand rests on the sash near a sheathed short sword at his side, and the other arm is slightly extended; the background inside the oval is a darker gray while the surrounding border and outer area are off-white and light brown.
