Date: 1830–1884., A monochrome drawing shows a man in ornate armor and a flowing cape seated on a large horse; the man wears a feathered hat and holds the reins with both hands, and his expression is neutral. The horse has a long mane and tail, a decorative bridle and saddle, and one front leg raised in a prancing pose. The scene includes a distant townscape with clustered buildings and towers visible along the horizon, a small tree or shrub on the left foreground, and a cloudy sky above. The image tones are shades of beige, brown, and gray.
