In the foreground a dirt road colored in warm brown winds from left to right beside a pale blue stream. A few cows in brown and tan graze on the meadow to the left. Near the center a small brown horse pulls a wooden cart carrying several figures in muted clothes. A standing figure wearing a long brown coat and hat is near the left edge of the road. Closer to the right, a group of people in subdued blues, browns, and grays gather beside the road, some seated on the ground and a couple standing; a few small dogs in white and brown are nearby. Further right along the road, a small group of figures and a cart appear near a cluster of trees with foliage in shades of green, tan, and pale orange. The distant village includes buildings and steeples in soft gray and beige tones, and the whole scene is framed by a wide tan and gray border.
