Sestertius; obverse: emperor on quadriga iconography; Alexander Severus Roman emperor, r. 222–235 — iconography; dated 229; Roman Empire; minted in Rome; coin; diameter 28.0–30.0 mm; weight 21.55 g., A circular coin with a worn raised profile of a person facing right, showing a head, neck, and shoulders in relief; the surface is mottled with green, dark green, brown, and hints of black patina; a raised rim encircles the portrait and there are textured, irregular areas and shallow indentations across the coin giving it an aged, corroded appearance.
