Denarius, Caracalla reign 198–217; emperor 188–217. Obverse: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, bust of young Caracalla with laurel wreath, cloak and armour, facing right. Reverse: PART MAX PONT TR P IIII, trophy with seated bound prisoners beneath. Roman Empire, Rome, 201 CE. Coin; diameter ~18.0–19.5 mm; weight 3.17 g., A worn round metallic coin with a raised profile of a person facing right in the center, showing detailed hair and a laurel-style headpiece and draped clothing; the coin surface is mostly silver-gray with darker gray areas in recessed parts and some lighter highlights on raised features; the rim is irregular with a few small chips and cracks visible, and there is subtle surface texture showing wear and slight tarnish.
