Denarius of Commodus reigned 177–192. Obverse: Head of Commodus in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription L AEL AVRELCOMM AVG P FEL. Reverse: Fortuna Felix standing left, holding a cornucopia in left hand and a caduceus in right, resting her leg on a ship, a star in the left field; inscription P M TRP XVII IMP VIII COS VII PP. Date: 192. Roman Empire; Rome mint. Materials/format: coin denarius, diameter ~15–17 mm, weight 2.40 g, axis 180°. Iconography: Commodus; Roman deities; Fortuna; caduceus; ships; stars; cornucopias., A roughly circular metallic object with a worn, textured surface appears against a white background; the object shows a raised central figure in low relief surrounded by an irregular rim with embossed markings, and the visible colors are shades of gray, dark gray, and some darker tarnished areas.
