Denarius subaerate, Faustina the Younger ca. 130–176; Roman empress 161–176; Augusta 147–161. Obverse: draped bust of Faustina II facing right, legend FAVSTINAE AVG - PII AVG FIL. Reverse: Venus standing left, holding an apple in her outstretched right hand and a rudder in her left, a dolphin wrapped around the rudder, legend V E - NVS. Roman Empire, Rome, ca. 147–161. Coin; diameter 17.0–18.0 mm, weight 2.65 g, axis 180°., A worn round metallic coin with a dull silver-gray surface and lighter highlights, showing a raised central figure standing and facing slightly to the left, with a draped garment and an outstretched arm holding a small round object; the coin surface has scratches, small dents, and areas of darker tarnish and faint brownish discoloration, and a few shallow raised symbols around the figure; the coin edge is irregular with small chips and a slightly darker rim.
