Sestertius of Antoninus Pius, 138 CE. Obverse: head of Antoninus Pius bare, facing right, legend IMP T AELIVS CAE - SAR ANTONINVS. Reverse: Pietas stands left before an altar, making an offering with his right hand and holding a container of perfumes in his left, legend TRIB POT COS DES II, episode PIETAS. Bronze coin sestertius, diameter 29.5–30.0 mm, weight 26.32 g, axis 180°., A round, worn metal disc with a textured, uneven surface showing a faint raised outline of a standing human figure and a nearby small raised rectangular object, the surface displaying a mix of dark brown, reddish-brown, and hints of black and muted gold tones with areas of rough patina and subtle surface pitting.
