Bust of Alexander Severus with laurel wreath and paludamentum facing right, pearl rim. Reverse: VIRTVSAVG. Virtus in military garb and helmet facing right, holding a spear point down in his right hand, resting his left hand on a shield at his feet, pearl rim. Date: 222–228. Roman Empire 27 BC–476, Rome. Coin. Diameter: 17.0–19.0 mm. Weight: 2.80 g., A round, worn coin with a metallic gray surface showing a raised, central figure standing and holding a long staff; the figure appears to wear a helmet and a draped garment. The coin's edge is irregular and the surface shows darker gray spots and lighter gray highlights from wear and relief. The background around the coin is plain white.
