Denarius depicting personifications; Alexander Severus Roman emperor, 222–235 — iconography: Liberalitas. Obverse: IMPCMAVRSEVALEXANDAVG. Bust of Alexander Severus right with laurel wreath and paludamentum, pearl rim. Reverse: LIBERALITASAVGII. Liberalitas stands facing left, holding a tessera in his right hand and a cornucopia in his left; pearl rim. Date: 222–228. Place of origin: Rome, Roman Empire. Object: coin denarius. Dimensions: diameter 18.5–19.0 mm; weight 3.25 g., A round metallic object with a worn, uneven edge showing a raised, embossed figure in relief at its center; the surface has a textured, slightly tarnished appearance with variations in light and dark gray tones and small areas of dull silver. The figure appears to be standing and is outlined by an incised border around the edge; there are a few raised decorative marks and shallow grooves on the surface. The background is plain white, and the object casts no visible shadow.
