Denarius of Alexander Severus reigned 222–235. Obverse: Bust of Alexander Severus in laurel wreath, armor and paludamentum facing right; legend IMPCMAVRSEVALEXANDAVG; pearl border. Reverse: Mars in military dress and helmet standing left, holding a branch in his right hand and resting his left on a standing spear; legend MARTIPACIFERO; pearl border. Attribution: Roman Empire, Rome; ca. 222–228. Coin; diameter ~18.5–20.0 mm; weight 2.85 g., A worn circular coin with an embossed side-profile of a person facing right, showing facial features, hair styled back and a visible ear, surrounded by a raised border with decorative markings; the coin appears metallic with shades of gray and silver and darker gray patina in crevices, with a few irregular edges and small chips along its rim, set against a plain white background.
