Denarius with hole, Elagabalus reigned 218–222, issuer: Julia Soaemias 180–222; Augusta 218–222. Obv.: IVLIASOAEMIASAVG — Draped bust of Julia Soaemias facing right, pearl border. Rev.: VENVSCAELESTIS — Venus seated on a throne facing left, holding an apple in her right hand and a sceptre in her left; at her feet stands a child with outstretched arms, pearl border. Rome, c. 218–222 CE. Coin; diameter ~17–18 mm; weight 2.35 g., A round, worn metallic object with a rough, pitted surface and an irregular edge, shown against a plain white background; the metal appears silver-gray with darker gray areas in the crevices and lighter silvery highlights on raised portions; the surface shows a faint, worn relief suggesting a profile and ornamental details, plus a small irregular hole near one edge; overall the object looks textured, tarnished, and uneven in color with variations of silver and gray.
