Denarius of Elagabalus reigned 218–222. Issued under Julia Soaemias Augusta 218–222. Obverse: IVLIASOAEMIASAVG — draped bust of Julia Soaemias facing right, pearl border. Reverse: VENVSCAELESTIS — Venus seated on a throne facing left, holding an apple in her right hand and a sceptre in her left; at her feet a child with outstretched arms, pearl border. Rome, 218–222. Coin; diameter 17.5–19.0 mm; weight 2.80 g., A round, worn coin with an uneven edge shown against a white background; the coin surface is dark gray with lighter gray highlights and a few small brownish spots, and it features a faint raised image of a seated human figure facing sideways along with worn raised markings around the rim.
