Reverse: VENVSCAELESTIS — Venus seated on a throne facing left, holding an apple in her right hand and a sceptre in her left; a child with outstretched arms stands at her feet, pearl border. Rome; 218–222. Coin; diameter 18.0–19.0 mm; weight 2.70 g., A round, worn coin with a dark gray metallic surface showing a seated figure in profile on one side; the figure appears draped in robes, seated on a square stool and holding a small rounded object in an outstretched hand while a staff or similar vertical object is behind them. The coin edge is irregular and shows shallow raised ridges and indentations. The overall colors visible are dark gray with lighter silvery highlights on raised areas and subtle brownish tarnish in a few spots.
