Denarius, Elagabalus Roman emperor 218–222. Issued under Julia Soaemias Augusta 218–222. Obverse: IVLIASOAEMIASAVG — Draped bust of Julia Soaemias facing right, pearl border. Reverse: VENVSCAELestis — Venus seated on a throne facing left, holding an apple in her right hand and a sceptre in her left; at her feet a child with outstretched arms, pearl border. Rome, 218–222. Coin; diameter ~18.0–19.5 mm; weight 2.55 g., A round, worn metal coin in shades of gray and silver with darker gray areas and slight brownish spots, showing a raised, circular beaded border and a central scene of a seated figure facing right on a throne, draped clothing visible, with an upright object beside the throne and a smaller standing figure near the seated figure; the coin edge is irregular and slightly chipped in places, and overall surface shows scratches and pitted texture.
