Denarius of Elagabalus reigned 218–222. Obverse: Draped bust of Julia Maesa facing right, pearl border; legend IVLIAMAESAAVG. Reverse: Veiled Pudicitia seated on a throne facing left, raising the hem of her veil with her right hand and holding a scepter in her left, pearl border; legend PVDIC ITIA. Circa 218–223 CE, Rome. Silver coin. Diameter approx. 17.0–18.5 mm; weight 1.85 g., A worn metallic object with an irregular oval shape showing a raised profile of a person's head facing right, with textured hair arranged in a braided or coiled style and a visible ear, a suggestion of clothing or drapery at the neck, and a band of raised areas near the top edge; colors visible include gray, silver, dark brown, and lighter metallic highlights.
