Denarius unofficial of Septimius Severus 146–211; Roman emperor 193–211. Obverse: Head of Septimius Severus with a laurel wreath facing right, inscribed L SEPT SEV PERT - AVG IMP VIII. Reverse: The emperor in a long robe and veil stands frontally with his head turned left, holding a patera above a tripod in his right hand and a scroll in his left, inscribed VOTA P - VBLICA. Iconography: emperor, tripod, paterae, scrolls. Date for the original: 196–197. Roman Empire; possibly minted in Rome. Coin type: denarius; diameter 17.0–18.5 mm; weight 2.65 g; axis 0°., A circular metal object with an irregular, worn edge showing a patina of gray and dark brownish-red, featuring a faint raised outline of a standing human figure in the center and several shallow circular and linear impressions around the perimeter.
