Trojak coin by Maciej Schilling mintmaster and co-creator Jost Ludwik Decjusz fl. 1528–1535; iconography associated with Albrecht Hohenzollern, Prince of Prussia 1490–1568. Obverse: male bust in armour in profile turned to the right; short hair, long beard with sideburns; rim inscription beginning with a trefoil: -ALBER DG MAR BRAN DVX PRVSS-; double continuous border, floral motifs between the words. Reverse: within double continuous border an inscription in six lines: -III-.GROSS:AR:/.TRIPLEX./.ALBER:DVC./.PRVSSIE./-I54I-; denomination and date flanked by trefoil marks. Date: 1541. Place: Ducal Prussia Königsberg. Coin; diameter 23.1 mm; weight 2.48 g; axis 100°., A round, metallic coin with a dark gray surface and lighter silver highlights, showing worn, raised lettering across its face in several horizontal lines and small decorative shapes near the edge; the coin edge is slightly irregular and darker, and the background around the coin is white.
