Panels with relief decoration of karashishi and peonies. Cover with four holes topped with a qilin. Bronze vessel, 2nd half of the 19th century. Height 22.0 cm; width 9.5 cm; depth 7.5 cm., A small ornate metal vessel in brown and dark bronze tones sits on a pedestal, with a sculpted animal figure mounted on the lid. The vessel has a square body with raised decorative panels showing relief designs, curved handles on either side, and elegantly arched legs that connect to a rectangular base. Surface details include carved floral and scroll motifs and textured patterns, and the overall colors visible are brown, dark bronze, and hints of black.
