Cover: wood covered with brown and black lacquer, painted with gold maki-e, bone faces, superimposed; decoration: landscape with two figures in a boat. Pages decorated with floral and landscape motifs. Album; height 17.1 cm, width 23.2 cm., A painted scene of a coastal landscape with green rolling hills meeting a calm blue-gray body of water, a few trees with dark green foliage atop the hills, and a small thatched structure partially visible near the treeline. A red gate-like structure stands on the hill among the trees. The sky shows soft gradients of pale blue and warm peach tones. There are a few small birds silhouetted in the sky. The image includes three blank cutout openings edged in pink—one rectangular with a rounded top near the upper right, one oval near the lower left, and a horizontal slot near the middle—set against a textured cream background and framed by a narrow floral patterned border and a dark fabric strip along the left edge.
