The background transitions from very dark gray at the top to a medium gray toward the bottom, and the ground surface beneath the base is a pale gray. The facial features on the head are subtly carved and worn, giving muted contours for eyes, nose, and mouth, and the overall scene includes tones of gray, brown, and subtle earthy speckles on the stone.
