Bowl; maker, noted. Japanese, Edo period ca. 1680–1720. Colored porcelain vessel, height 12.4 cm, diameter 25.8 cm. Decoration: outside shows a stylized landscape with pagodas; inside features large ornamental rosettes and flowered branches. Subjects: pagodas, plant ornaments, flowers, rosette., A shallow ceramic bowl with a rounded foot, shown against a plain gray background, decorated with a pattern in blue and reddish-orange on a white base; the exterior shows stylized landscape motifs including trees and architectural forms in blue, accented with reddish-orange cloud-like bands and floral elements, with a circular medallion motif in blue and reddish-orange on one side; the rim and interior edge have repeated decorative bands in the same colors, and the bowl sits on a reflective surface that shows a soft mirrored image.
