Kinseki vase, Japanese, Meiji period 19th–20th century, height 17.9 cm, diameter 7.0 cm., A tall, narrow ceramic vase with a flared neck and rounded shoulders, finished in a speckled reddish-brown glaze with visible flecks of gold and darker brown; the rim and base have a thin band of metallic color, and the vase casts a subtle reflection on the smooth gray surface beneath it against a plain light gray background.
