Sides of the burner and cover decorated with engraved plant ornament: plum trees, bamboos, pine trees; animal and iconographic motifs include bats, lions, fo, hares/rabbits, deer, cranes; yin and yang motifs. Ceremonial/ritual vessel., A brass censer with a rounded body and a pierced domed lid sits on a reflective surface; the metal shows golden and bronze tones with areas of darker patina and engraved floral and foliate patterns on the bowl; the lid features an openwork design and a small sculpted ring handle, and a pair of vertical handles rise from the rim to the lid attachment; the censer stands on a group of ornate legs shaped like stylized animal heads and curved feet, all in matching golden-bronze hues against a pale gray background.
