Vase tsubo, Japanese, ca. 1720–1740, Arita, Japan. Colored porcelain Imari tsubo decorated with phoenixes, flowers, pine trees, plant and geometric ornaments; vessel height 28.5 cm., The image shows a rounded ceramic vase with a short neck against a plain gray background. The vase is decorated with painted floral and botanical motifs in colors including red, green, blue, purple, and white, with areas of darker blue and touches of yellow. The upper section features ornate red and blue patterned bands and stylized floral medallions, while the body displays a repeating arrangement of leaves and flowers in green and purple with red stems and accents. A wavy blue element runs vertically among the floral designs, and the base has a decorative border with a repeating circular motif in red. The surface appears glossy and reflective.
