The lid has vertical open slats painted in red and white beneath the animal finial, which is patterned with yellow spots and purple mane details. The body is richly painted with a continuous scene of human figures and cloud-like motifs rendered in blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, and white, and it has a circular ring handle accentuated in orange on one side. A decorative band of repeating elements in red, blue, and white encircles the shoulder. The censer stands on three curved legs painted in blue, red, and yellow, and the piece casts a reflection on the glossy surface beneath it.
