Vase, Chinese, Qing dynasty Kangxi period, 1662–1722. Ovoid blue-and-white porcelain vase with a flaring cup-shaped mouth. On the shoulders are two applied mascarons with wheeled elements. Underglaze cobalt-painted decoration: figural scenes in two quatrefoil reserves; background plant ornament with small leaves and large floral rosettes, lotus tendril ornament, fans, lotuses. Signed. Height 25.5 cm; diameter 11.1 cm., A tall porcelain vase with a flared rim featuring blue decorative patterns on a white background, showing a painted scene of several human figures in traditional clothing within an oval panel, surrounded by floral and scrolling motifs; the vase has a pair of small sculpted handles on the shoulders and displays colors of blue and white.
