Guanyin, unknown creator; 18th century Qing dynasty 1644–1911, China; Chinese Buddhist sculpture; lotus throne; bodhisattva mercy; figurine; height 24 cm., A three-dimensional sculpture of a seated figure on a lotus-shaped base rendered in dark brown and aged bronze tones with areas of worn reddish and gold highlights; the figure wears an ornate crown with intricate carved details and has long flowing robes with textured folds and layered ornamentation, hands posed in delicate gestures, a serene facial profile with closed eyes, and a small hole visible in the side of the torso; the lotus base shows petal motifs with similar dark brown, bronze, and touches of reddish coloration, all set against a smooth, light gray background.
