Ritual vessel, gift; Burmese art, Burmese culture, religious rites. Tray with a fluted surface showing a bamboo weaving pattern, made of bamboo covered with black lacquer on the bottom. Profiled legs covered with red lacquer. Overall good condition; local abrasions and cracks in the lacquer layers, many local cracks and lacquer losses on the bottom. 19th/20th century, Burma Myanmar. Vessel; height 15.5 cm, diameter 44.5 cm., A low wooden table seen from the front with a round dark tabletop and a carved dark band underneath, supported by a group of short carved legs and decorative aprons in a reddish-brown wood tone; the surface shows areas of worn dark finish and the wood grain and carving details are visible, with the background and floor appearing in muted gray and reflections of the legs faintly visible on the surface beneath.
