Dark milky jadeite, translucent with inclusions dirty green. Head and stem carved in full relief. 19th century, China. Belt buckle. Height 3.1 cm, width 11.6 cm, depth 2.3 cm., A pale greenish-white carved stone object in the shape of a stylized animal with a long curved body and a carved head rests on a light surface, casting a soft shadow; the object shows smooth rounded forms, textured ridges along its back, a curled tail with a small hole, and subtle variations of creamy, off-white, and translucent green tones.
