Belt clasp, Chinese, dragons iconography, dragon with pearl, Qing 1644–1911. Head in the shape of a two-horned dragon's head with an open mouth; stem a dragon playing with a flaming pearl. Dark milky jadeite, translucent with inclusions dirty green. Head and stem carved in full relief. 19th century, China. Belt buckle. Height 3.1 cm; width 11.6 cm; depth 2.3 cm., A pale, smooth carved object resembling a stylized animal form rests on a flat surface, showing a curved body with a rounded head at one end and a tapered tail at the other; the carving has sinuous contours, a raised ridge along the back with scalloped detailing, rounded protrusions and curving open spaces within the body, and a separate rounded piece beneath it providing slight elevation; the visible colors are shades of off-white, pale cream, and very light gray, set against a background that transitions from light gray at the bottom to darker gray toward the top.
