Belt clasp, Chinese, Qing 1644–1911, 18th–19th century. Spinach jade; sculpture and engraving. Scepter head with a bas-relief stylized lizard; shaft with a Taoist emblem of one of the Eight Immortals and ruyi auspicious scepter iconography; Immortals and Taoism themes; lizards zoological motif. Belt buckle. Height 2.7 cm; width 12.0 cm; depth 4.5 cm., A carved object made of dark green material rests on a light surface with a gradient gray background, showing smooth and glossy finishes and a few areas of subtle translucence; the piece has an elongated base with raised carved floral motifs and a curved extension that rises and ends in a rounded platform also decorated with carved flower shapes, casting a soft shadow beneath.
