Belt clasp, Chinese, birds, Qing 1644–1911, milky-white jadeite with slight green tint, full-sculpture carved head, handle with an edge on the spine and a pointed tip, 17th–18th century, China, belt buckle; h. 1.3 cm, w. 7.3 cm, d. 0.96 cm., A smooth, curved object resembling a stylized snake or serpentine form rests on a flat surface, carved from a pale green, almost translucent stone with subtle variations in hue; one end rises slightly with a rounded head-like shape and a small open mouth, while the body arches gracefully and is supported near the center by a low, disc-like element, casting soft gray shadows on the white-gray background.
