Dark patinated background highlighting the golden brass on the edge, around kôgai hitsuana and seppa dai. Relief decoration in colored enamels of a grape vine and a squirrel on both sides. Unsigned. Japan; tsuba; diameter 6.9 cm; thickness 0.5 cm., A round metal object with a raised oval opening in the center, decorated with floral and vine motifs in green, turquoise, yellow, brown, and gold tones; the metal shows areas of darker patina and bright brass edges, and the surface has textured, engraved patterns and small raised bead-like details.
