Crossguard tsuba, Shôami, and Migaki ; tsuba of the kuruma tsuba type, of the Buddhist Law Circle; oval seppa dai; on both sides decoration of irregular brass inlaid spots, and on the edge two stripes, the outer one filled with fine dots. Unsigned. 18th century Edo period, 1603–1868, Japan. Tsuba; diameter 8.5 cm, thickness 0.5 cm., A round, flat metal object with a central elongated oval opening and a few surrounding irregular cutouts, featuring radial openwork segments separated by raised bars; the surface shows areas of brown iron and patches of gold-toned inlay or gilding, with darker brown decorative cloud-like motifs on the gold sections and a textured band along the outer rim; the background is a uniform light gray.
