Cast bronze vase with inlay of cold gold, dusting over lacquer; varnished bronze with full-plastic relief and engraved decoration. Decorated on the shoulders with six buttons with rosettes and an antidated signature; lion iconography. On a high foot. Round base with bulging side decorated with openwork plant ornament, on four short legs one missing. 17th/18th century, China. Vessel, vase: height 26 cm, diameter 16.5 cm; base: height 5.3 cm, diameter 13.1 cm., A gilded metal vase sits on a dark carved wooden stand; the vase has a warm golden brown surface with irregular gold patches and a rounded body that narrows at the neck and flares at the rim, and a pair of ornate handles shaped like stylized animal or dragon figures in a darker bronze tone curving from the neck to the shoulder.
